During his four years at Florida State, Tony Carter was a force on the defense. He was a four year starter that always seemed to be in the right place at the right time. His career numbers went as followed: 138 total tackles with 9 interceptions, 3 of which were returned for touchdowns. Carter also had 31 career pass deflections during his 49 games at Florida State.
Due to some injuries for the Broncos, Tony is finally getting a chance to prove his worth for the team. He is being primarily used as their nickle corner. Through week 15 he has played in all 14 games and recorded 27 tackles with 2 picks, 1 returned for a touchdown and 11 pass deflections.
We recently caught up with Tony before his game with the Baltimore Ravens this past weekend and asked him some questions about his season with the Broncos.
FSUPros - You are having a breakout season with the Broncos, can you describe the feeling of helping contribute to one of the best defenses in the NFL right now?
Tony Carter - It's definitely a great feeling being apart of a winning team and a strong defense. We are playing well together.

FSUPros - What part of your game did you work on last off-season to play at such a high level?
Tony Carter - During the off season I worked a lot on my ball skills and focused on finishing plays. Because the NFL is all about production.
FSUPros - You are now playing in nickle and dime packages, going forward for this year and next what can you work on to be an every down corner?
Tony Carter - To be a every down corner in this league you have to be consistent and that's the thing I work on every week is to be more consistent.
FSUPros - During the Sunday night game against the Panthers how did it feel to pick off Cam Newton and return it for the touchdown at their place?
Tony Carter - It was a great feeling to pick off Cam Newton for a pick 6. It was my first pick 6, but most of all we got the win.
FSUPros - I know you were never given the opportunity to play at other stops along the way, how has that molded you into the player you are now and what did you take from those experiences?
Tony Carter - During my journey around the NFL I've learned that its all about being ready when your time comes. I'm getting a great opportunity this year and making the most of it.
FSUPros - Can you describe your favorite moment as a Florida State Seminole?
Tony Carter - My favorite FSU moment was my red shirt freshman year, I got my 1st start vs Miami and we hadn't beat them in the last 5 games. The final score was 10 to 7. I was named player of the game and I must say that was a great way to start my career as a Nole.
