FSUPros Week 17 NFL Recap: Mike Harris Finishes Rookie Season Strong For The Jaguars

Yesterday was the finish of the regular season in the NFL and there were many former Seminoles that made their mark.  There is no better way to end the season than going out and playing your best football to set the tone for next season.  Both Lawrence Timmons of the Pittsburgh Steelers and Nigel Bradham of the Buffalo Bills had big weekend but none more than Mike Harris of the Jacksonville Jaguars.  He put a stamp on his rookie season as we will feature in our recap.

Mike Harris - Jacksonville Jaguars

His big moment came in the fourth quarter as the Titans were lining up to punt when he squeezed through the left side and blocked the punt, then picked it up and returned it for a touchdown the first of his career.  Harris started a corner for the fifth consecutive game and his sixth of the season.  He made four solo tackles and one assisted tackle.  During his rookie season he recorded 55 total tackles, one sack, six pass deflections and one interception in 15 games.

Lawrence Timmons - Pittsburgh Steelers

Although the Steelers were out of the playoffs coming into Sunday's game with the Browns you would have thought they had a shot to make it with the way Timmons was playing.  He did everything on the stat sheet making six tackles with two sacks, forcing a fumble and recovering a fumble.  The former Seminole was also able to have two quarterback hurries.  Lawrence finished his season with 106 tackles, six sacks, two forced fumbles and three interceptions with one returned for a touchdown.  He also had five pass deflections.

Nigel Bradham - Buffalo Bills

Nigel had his first career double digit tackle game with 11 during the teams win over the Jets.  The former Seminole also had a fumble recovery after a teammate sacked Mark Sanchez.  He made his 11 consecutive start of the season and played in all 16 games as a rookie.  He finished the season with 57 total tackles and one pass deflection.

Greg Jones - Jacksonville Jaguars

Jones played but did not record any stats.

Shawn Powell - Buffalo Bills

It was another busy day for Powell who had five punts for an average of 39.2 yards with a long of 51 yards and two landing inside the 20 yard line.  During his rookie season the former Seminole punted a total of 65 times after being picked up by the Bills in week 4.  He had an average of 44 yards per punt with 23 landing inside the 20.  Only 27 punts were returned for an average of 12.7 yards per return and only one went for a touchdown.

Garrison Sanborn - Buffalo Bills

Garrison handled all the long-snapping duties for the Bills again.  He was perfect on the season.

Anquan Boldin - Baltimore Ravens

Boldin was inactive on Sunday for the Ravens against the Bengals with a shoulder injury sustained last weekend on a diving catch.  The Ravens had already locked up a playoff spot so I don't think the injury is to bad just getting him some extra rest before the playoffs start.

Dekoda Watson - Tampa Bay Buccaneers

The special teams player was at it again for the Buccaneers coming up with a blocked punt and making two tackles in coverage.  He finished the season with 10 total tackles playing in all 16 games.

Markus White - Tampa Bay Buccaneers

Markus played during the win over the Atlanta Falcons but did not record a tackle, he did however have a quarterback pressure.

Chris Hope - Atlanta Falcons

Made his fourth consecutive start for the Falcons on Sunday.  He made two tackles from his safety position.

Antone Smith - Atlanta Falcons

Smith played on special teams but did not record a tackle.

Antonio Cromartie - New York Jets

Cromartie had a pretty quite day for the Jets who lost to the Bills.  He had two tackles and finished the season with 35 tackles, three interceptions one returned for a touchdown and had 13 pass deflections.  The former Seminole did a great job in the absence of Darrelle Revis.

Geno Hayes - Chicago Bears

Geno made his third start of the season against the Detroit Lions coming up with three total tackles during the win.  He finished the season playing in 15 games and having 16 tackles with one pass deflection.

Andre Fluellen - Detroit Lions

Andre made his first start of the season for the Lions as their defensive tackle.  During the game he had three assisted tackles.  For the season he played in three games with six total tackles.

Graham Gano - Carolina Panthers

It was a busy day for Gano as the Panthers were putting up point against the Saints defense.  He was 5/5 on extra points and 3/4 on field goals with a long of 42.  His miss was a 54 yard attempt that went wide right.  For the season he kicked in six games for the Panthers and was 9/11 FGs with a long of 51 yards and was 20/21 XPs.

Patrick Robinson - New Orleans Saints

Robinson had the duty of covering Steve Smith this weekend and only allowed him to three catches for 73 yards.  One of the catches came on a crossing route where Robinson was rubbed off and Smith got away.  He finished the game with three tackles and one pass deflection.  He started all 16 games for the Saints in his third season and had 63 tackles with one sack, three interceptions one returned 99 yards for a TD, and a forced fumble.  Robinson also had a career high 18 pass deflections.

Brodrick Bunkley - New Orleans Saints

It was a very productive day for the defensive tackle.  Bunkley made five total tackles including a sack and a tackle for loss.  He was in the backfield all day and had one quarterback pressure.  For the season he started and played in 15 games making 23 tackles with two and a half sacks. He also had two pass deflections.

Kamerion Wimbley - Tennessee Titans

Wimbley spent much of his day in the backfield with Jaguars quarterback Chad Henne.  He had three tackles including a sack with two quarterback hurries.  Wimbley finished the season with 30 tackles, six sacks and one forced fumble while playing and starting in all 16 games.

Tony Carter - Denver Broncos

It was a quite weekend for Tony who was unable to record a tackle but did have a pass deflection during the Broncos win over the Chiefs.

Christian Ponder - Minnesota Vikings

Ponder played his best game of the year and when the team needed him to.  It was simple win and the Vikings make the playoffs, lose and their out.  The problem was they were playing the high powered Packers offense, to stay in the game Ponder needed to minimize his mistakes and put points on the board.  He did both of those.  For the game Ponder was 16/28 for 234 yards with three touchdowns.  Nothing was more important than his third down completions going 7/11 for 86 yards and a TD.  He kept drives alive and made perfect throws hitting receivers in stride and where only they could catch it.

Letroy Guion - Minnesota Vikings

Guion made two tackles during the teams win over the Packers Sunday.

Sebastian Janikowski - Oakland Raiders

It was a pretty easy day for Janikowski as he only had three extra point attempts in which he made all of them.  For the season he was perfect on extra point attempts 25/25 and was 31/34 on field goals with a long of 57 yards.

Darnell Dockett - Arizona Cardinals

Darnell started for the Cardinals against the 49ers but was held without a tackle.  He did have one quarterback pressure during the teams loss.  He finished the season with 34 tackles and one and a half sacks while playing in 15 games and starting 14.

Leon Washington - Seattle Seahawks

The Pro Bowl returner had three kickoffs returned for an average of 20 yards and also fielded two punts for an 11 yard average.

Ernie Sims - Dallas Cowboys

Ernie made his sixth start of the season for the Cowboys during their loss to the Redskins.  He had five total tackles for the game.  For the season Sims played in 10 games making 43 tackles with one sack and had one pass deflection.
