Rough Times For Posey and Giants

The Giants as a whole need to do a better job of producing in key moments.  In Wednesdays rubber match against the Dodgers they were 3-11 as a team with runners in scoring position.  Buster Posey was 1-4 with an RBI (1-5 in the game).  Chad Billingsley, the Dodgers pitcher, walked 4 and gave up 7 while only allowing 2 earned runs.

The 3rd inning was the best chance for them to score big.  Buster Posey came up to bat and hit a single into left center field which scored Melky Cabrera, who had tripled to deep center with one out on the previous at-bat. Then with runners on first and second and two outs the Giants get a single to center, that should plate one run but a base running error by Nate Schierholtz caused him to get thrown out before the leading runner could score.

The rest of the game Posey went 0-3 with 3 strikeouts in the 6-2 loss.  The team will have an off day today, then will start a series on Friday at the Arizona Diamondbacks.
