How The Seminoles Fared In Week 8 Of The NFL

Christian Ponder of the Minnesota Vikings was 19/35 for 251 yards with one touchdown and one interception during their loss on Thursday to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.  His one touchdown pass was to Percy Harvin for 18 yards down the right sideline.  Also he was able to recover a fumble.  Ponder has been off of his game the past couple of weeks.  During the first four weeks of the season he did not throw an interception; in the past four games he has thrown seven.  He has been under a lot more pressure during this rough stretch, being sacked 11 times in these four games.  If his offensive line could get some better blocks on pass plays, Ponder could make better throws.

Letroy Guion of the Minnesota Vikings had one solo tackle.  His tackle was made on LeGarrette Blount as he tried to run behind the right guard for no gain.

Dekoda Watson of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers was out on special teams but did not record a tackle during their win against the Vikings.

Geno Hayes of the Chicago Bears did not record a tackle while playing on special teams in their comeback win against the Carolina Panthers.

Richard Goodman of the San Diego Chargers return the opening kickoff 21 yards but was injured on the play.  He was unable to return to the game with a hamstring injury.  He is expected to miss several weeks while he recovers.  This is awful news since Goodman was suppose to see an increase roll as the slot receiver for the Chargers with Eddie Royal having a significant injury.

Leon Washington of the Seattle Seahawks made two catches for 16 yards, returned three kickoffs for an average of 22 yards, and returned three punts for an average of 9 yards.  Both of his catches came on the final possession of the first half for the Seahawks.  Washington caught his first pass in the right flat for seven yards and then was pushed out of bounds at the 50 yard line to stop the clock.  On the next play, he caught a pass over the middle for nine yards.  The Seahawks missed a 61 yard field goal.

Mike Harris of the Jacksonville Jaguars made the most of his playing time this week with the injury to Rashean Mathis.  He came up with five solo tackles on defense and one solo tackle on special teams.  Harris was second on the team in total tackles.  All of his defensive tackles came on pass play.

Antonio Cromartie of the New York Jets had two solo tackles in their loss to the Miami Dolphins.  He started the game with a bang as he threw Reggie Bush out of bounds and was called for a penalty for unnecessary roughness.  Both of this tackles were made against receivers who only gain a total of two yards.

Chris Hope of the Atlanta Falcons was out on special teams but did not record a tackle in their win over the Eagles.

Lawrence Timmons of the Pittsburgh Steelers made two solo tackles in their win over the Washington Redskins.  He had one tackle on a run and the other tackle came in pass coverage.  Timmons also had a pressure on the quarterback that caused a bad throw.

Kamerion Wimbley of the Tennessee Titans had two solo tackles, one assisted tackle and half of a sack.  During his sack of Indianapolis quaterback Andrew Luck, Wimbley and his teammate were able to force a fumble but could not recover it.  All of his tackles Sunday were made against Andrew Luck as he was in the backfield causing problems.

Sebastian Janikowski of the Oakland Raiders was 4/4 on field goal attempts with a long of 36 and also both of his extra points.  For the season he has only missed one field goal.

Ernie Sims of the Dallas Cowboys made his first start of the season and came up with three total tackles.  Two of which were solo tackles on defense and his assisted tackle came on special teams.

Patrick Robinson of the New Orleans Saints had four solo tackles and one pass deflection in their loss Sunday night to the Denver Broncos.  He was also able to force a fumble but the Saints could not recover it.

Tony Carter of the Denver Broncos made one solo tackle and deflected two passes.  The Saints trailed the whole game so the Broncos knew the pass was coming and the team was able to get pressure on Drew Brees, which made life for the corners easier.
